not if he's using the guitar that he is... they have carbon fiber guitars. imagine that.

Still, with artists like Mongrain and Hendrix, there should be no competition.I'm sure they didn't end up in the music industry just so they could show off; Hendrix had so much soul that you couldn't compare it. On the other hand, Mongrain has a LOT of soul, just a different... "type", if you follow.

Yes, I was kidding. I said that just to strike a nerve. It's a pretty ludicrous claim and I thought people would realize that. I said it simply to underscore my opinion that Mongrain is no Hendrix.

Furthermore, Kaki King wrote those songs, and if you really think she can compose better music, then you obviously haven't seen her other works.

"Go listen to your August Rush rip-offs"Are you KIDDING me? Look, I'm fine with you having a different opinion and all, but to have the nerve to say such a thing, and the ignorance to claim "August Rush rules them all!"You can't say that these songs are the rip-offs when the most famous song from that movie was repetition of harmonic slaps; while these songs are actually created with care of melodic content.

PS - The beauty of what Erik Mongrain does is in his articulation and dynamics; two elements completely lacking in a band like DEP.

LMFAO @ this tool calling Dillinger Escape Plan innovative. Ben Weinman's entire career has been a huge exercise in copying Today Is the Day's Willpower album. And he doesn't even play well live. What is "harmonically interesting" rehashing every guitar metalcore lick that has become a cliche over the past 10 years?Neither artist is very original, but I'd rather rip off Don Ross and Michael Hedges than Deadguy and Greg Ginn. Yuck.
