If it hits at Cat 3 it will be bad enough. Katrina hit landfall at Cat 3 and they are still in the process of rebuilding the levy system so it could be worse than Katrina.

There's a reason to ride out the storm, if you're undocumented Mexican working in New Orleans, and I understand there are now thousands of Mexicans working for low wages fixing the damaged caused by Katrina. We need those Mexicans! They should be given permits to remain in the US and work on cleaning up after the hurricane until further notice.
