Sarah Brightman is a favorite among many as far as sopranos go...but I absolutely adore Angela Gheorghiu. Her opera technique and quality is grade A quality all the way.

Well said ManuCraiova...a sad habit with many: measuring/comparing instead of EXPERIENCING/LIVING the art, strength, beauty, love whether Olympic performances or music. The joyful moment or afterglow lost because hearts are not open to begin with...spirt & life missed once again for cherished ideas or memories. Angela is always capable of bursting your heart open...but let the critics jabber and spoil thier own momnets despite all their negativity the sun shines and birds still sing!

Please stop the comparation with Maria Callas! Is like comparing Edith Piaf with Celine Dion.WHO CARES IF SHE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD OR WHO IS THE BEST?Important is that she sings incredible beautiful. Maria Callas is no longer amoung us so enjoy this wonderful Angela Gheorghiu and go watch her performances...SHE IS GREAT ...ABOUT THIS ONE ! ALL THE PEOPLE THERE SHOULD STAND UP FOR THIS PERFORMANCE .THAT'S NOT A WAY TO EXPRES APRECIATION TO MUSIC OPERA AND TO ANGELA.SHAME ON THEM.

ok...so, let's ignore the part of my comment where sarah is included...but still...u can not compare tarja with angela... angela is by far better than tarja...and let's just not forget that tarja is not an opera singer...tarja has a master degree in bell canto which is a classical style that pretty much resemble with opera but opera is not bell canto
