April 14, 1996. The Sabres play their final game at The Aud, beating the Hartford Whalers 4-1. A post game tribute and farewell was given to honor Sabres past greats and the Aud itself. Sabres past greats and current players skate one last time on the Aud ice, ending with one last goal and sound of the horn by Pat Lafontaine.

Knowing bass pro, they'd have to put up a memorial in front. ON THIS GROUND ONCE STOOD THE HOME OF THE BUFFALO SABRES AND 18,000+ SCREAMING FANS FOR YEARS
