Does this FWD Audi TT have a Quaife LSD or not?
A workshop claims to have installed a quaife LSD in this Audi TT FWD. Please observe opposite wheel when I turn the wheel facing the camera. Observe that I can can still turn the wheel facing the camera in both directions while the opposite wheel is held by someone - without any mechanical restrictions or any mechanical sounds...Can anyone tell me if there is an LSD or not?

I am not sure on that either way. I would be careful using that as a guide though since if the car was in gear, the other wheel would turn the opposite way guaranteed even with an open diff.

Quaife diffs aren't the clutch pack or locker type. They use some kind of complicated gear based torque biasing stuff thats beyond me....at any rate they claim the amount of "lock" is variable, so it could explain why it looks like its loose.

Normally you should not be able to do that by hand. If you stop one wheel the other one should not move easily. It should behave like a rigid one. Otherwise if you do it, it is because slips when still has not been loaded. Nevertheless at the beginning of the movie seems like both tyres turn same direction which is how should be. My verdict is:1)It is LSD, but it slips too easily, so probably the limitation is low, or somehow is worn down

if i'm not wrong, if u have a quaife, the opposite wheel should spin in the other direction
