That is the fun part of speculating, you can bolt on impossible attributes, and ask what would happen then. Then the fun begins. It's what I love about short speculative fiction. And if there are such 4D creatures, I am sure they would have some similar tales about the 'cube creatures' and how the metaphors, even though such creatures are impossible, their squlit couldn't blut, such metaphors help one to understand the concept of a fifth dimension.

*Nod* I'm aware. Its like Einstien's Infinite Elevator. No such thing could exist - but what would happen if it did?And yes, if Flatlanders could exist, there is nothing that says they would not be able to evolve thought. But it would be nothing like our thought, controlled by brains. Then again, we can't know.It makes me wonder, what if there are 'Time-landers' currently talking about 'square-landers' What if they're talking about how we couldn't have bizarre 4 dimensional organs they do.

Well, yes. It is after all a thought experiment, to help us ponder higher dimensions. But I am not so sure about the intelligence part. Information is stored in two dimensions. The mind is information, therefore I could conceive of an intelligence of two dimensions. If Flatlanders could exist.

Of course it would be. A truly flat creature could even have any blood vessels! They would divide it in half.Flatlanders cannot exist, as far as our understanding of Science goes. And if they did, they could not have any intelligence.

So the revelation from God that sent through Gabriel (the angel) to Mohammed is finally explainable in science term as the angel came through other dimension.

A good question. If something really had zero thickness, what would there be for the photons to hit? However, if you had a life form a bit thicker, say, one cell thick but many cells across, like thin pond scum, I would imagine it would see things as graduation along a single line. some parts darker, and some parts brighter. Having something move toward it of it would be like having a dark line slowly grow longer at both ends. A truly 2 dimensional creature would be blind I think.
