reactable: improvisation demo
http://mtg.upf.edu/reactableTh... reactable, is a multi-user electronic music instrument with a tabletop tangible user interface. Several simultaneous performers share complete control over the instrument by moving physical objects on a luminous table surface. By moving and relating these objects, representing components of a classic modular synthesizer, users can create complex and dynamic sonic topologies, with generators, filters and modulators, in a kind of tangible modular synthesizer or graspable flow-controlled programming language. This instrument is being developed by a team of digital luthiers (Sergi Jordà , Martin Kaltenbrunner, Günter Geiger and Marcos Alonso), at the Music Technology Group within the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.

It's neat, but not practical for any sort of a live performance...

yeah, the theramin started as just special effects, but now its almost nearly halfway respected as some sort of out-of-the-ordinary not completely practical musical instrument.

Oh. My. God. This is perfection! I can't wait for this to be enhanced to be a new instrument for making Trance!!!

Well, it's just a matter of time until someone learns how to really work it and produces something absolutely amazing :) They just need a bit time to master it, I guess.
