Yes he did, it happened in his first American tour. The standard Steinway action was too heavy for him and he asked the technician to make it lighter. Just before a concert in Buffalo, I believe, another technician made the action heavy again. At the concert Paderewski played a few chords to warm up. Suddenly, he said, "Something broke in my arm." It was very painful and he had trouble with that finger the rest of his life.

before coming to america paderewsky played on the old erards which did not communicate power and boldness but had a more human quality.classical music was originally very verbal-sounding, not the rigid and pompous science you often hear these days

I love his hands mouvement,like rubinstein,but i like more rubinstein,did he had a problem in his right hand?at the fourth finger?anyone knows?
