jflow thanx for commenting! I think that it is rather cool that she herself as a kind of canvass to explore recreation. I definently think its cool to admire different cultures I just think when taken out the context of the actual culture and one (as madonna has done) picks and chooses what one likes... the cultural significance can be lost or it can be broadened or exploited in some cases... ah living in a multicultural world!

I love that book. Her song Isaac sounds like it can be the soundtrack to The Alchemist.

Hahaha! When I first saw this video, I thought it was abou zombies, then I thought it was about "Memoirs of a Geisha" (which I haven't read), then I thought it was about Postmodern philosophy (the "nothing really matters, love is all we need" part defines PoMo a little bit), and finally I know what the video is all about: a combination of images from "Memoirs of a Geisha" with butoh. Man, what a trip.

Madonna also read the "Alchemist," a novel. I heard its good, give it a shot.

I've never really been a big madonna fan but I've always loved her voice and how she just looks so totally different in each video, sometimes she's unrecognizable

I always loved this video because of how she looked and what she wore...
