Culture in Danger (Culture en Péril, with subtitles)
***IMPORTANT NOTE: To see subtitles, you need to turn the captions "on" by clicking on the arrow button at the bottom right of the screen, then hover over the CC symbol and turn the captions "on". Thanks.***This video was created by a few Québec artists to denounce the cuts in cultural funding by the Conservative governement, led by Stephen Harper. This version includes english subtitles. When Beau Dommage's Michel Rivard visits a newly formed governmental committee overseeing cultural financing, language gaps and cultural misunderstandings abounds, mostly when Rivard plays his classical song, "La Complainte du Phoque en Alaska" (The Complaint of the Seal in Alaska)...***I received a message from the original creators, so I assume it's accepted that my subtitled version doesn't interfere with their intellectual property.*** http://tupperfan.blogspot.com

Repeating something over and over will not make it true. You are just looking for a way out.Countless times I've asked you to tell me how anglos are oppressed and you couldn't deliver. This is not what I'd considering "winning".You've shown a lack of arguments, a lack of information and a lack of understanding. One has to wonder how I managed to learn english in a province that "oppresses it", right?

You're wasting your time defending the indefensible.I don't have to defend anything because what I've said has all been said before and by more respected voices than you and I will ever become.
PhilipJFry72 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
You have lost. Consistently and completely.Your identity is so intertwined with the Quebec myth that you have adopted its repressive tactics. Quite honestly, I would have expected better from someone who considers himself educated.

I'm a born in Ontario, raised in Québec Haitian and I've been to Haiti, the US and continental Europe. I am planning a second trip to Europe. Why did you ask? I disagree with your last statement, I think I can win over more than simply born convinced separatists. On the other hand, I don't think you'd get anyone riled up that isn't already.sorry, but I have the conviction you are losing your time. :)

Sorry but target hardly means represse. I could target a certain group with social programs for example.I haven't certainly lost an argument you constantly avoid. You cannot find anything that showcases an oppression of anglos in Québec. You play the sign law, which is your only card and quite a weak one at that and you are done. You should either admit this, or come here with better or at least other examples of english "oppression".

I can't believe you made a correlation with Tibet here. I will calmly from the side let you destroy your own arguments, along with your credibility.:)

Sur quelles bases le Québec est un pays pauvre sans le Canada? Le Québec n'est toujours pas en récession, contrairement à l'Ontario et la presque totalité du monde occidental."en crisse economique"je l'ai bien rigolé celle là .
PhilipJFry72 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Actually, I do. I've seen it firsthand. Have you ever been outside of Canada? Or studied human psychology?I have... I know all about repression, and the psychological tricks that gvts and political organizations play. The Quebec myth might have persuaded you, but I - and many others - see through it. Don't assume that you've said anything of value or that your political indoctrination means anything to anyone other than other separatists.
