It's not quite true that Biodiesel can be used in any Diesel engine, you actually need to find very specific models to run without modification. Like 97-99 TDI Jettas or 01-03 TDI Golfs. The most important features you should look for are the injection system and the presence of some sort of preheating system. That being said, it's a brilliant fuel, much better than ethenol.

there is nothing remotely green about ethanol fuel. If you read science a bit deeper than political campaign brochures, you will quickly realise ethanol fuel is yet another expensive junk science proposition by the green nazis. Stupid misguided hippies.

Ethanol is HORRIBLE. Growing CROPS just for fuel is expensive, makes food price soar. Takes MORE energy to make ethanol than you GET FROM IT! Only Farmers getting Fed subsitides to grow CRAP corn like it. Ethanol will not work in cold temp, holds more water & has less energy, MPG goes down. BIODIESEL works becaue it uses WASTE VEG OIL. Growing corn crops for fuel will not work. Brazil works because they use suger; suger cane grows like weeds there & energy out/in ratio is good. CORN=POOR.
