small correction. These are not progressive metal (the ones you are asking for), nor is blind guardian, hammerfall or nightwish. You are talking about other genres (Blind guardian:epic metal, nightwish: symphonic metal -back in tarja days mostly-). Progressive metal bands are bands like Dream Theater..or Queensryche i.e.Anyway...sound wise, i would include After Forever, since you guys mentioned Nightwish. Symphonic metal, beautiful music.

Beware, pick Nightwish with Tarja because their latest album dark passion play with the new singer Anette derailed from that sound and somehow sounds more pop and mainstream so take care to listen to the albums Ocean Born, Century Child, Angels Fall First and Once which are just amazing. Then if you like them you may try to listen to their latest but trust me a lot of people including me got disappointed... That's why I turned to Sonata Arctica and am so thankful that I found them on youtube!
