This is an interesting fight I have recently found. A Capoeirista fighting in a stand-up fight k-1 rules.

that may be, I dont really know since I dont know much about it or seen it live so to speak, but it looks pretty cool. ;Di use to be a kickboxer thinking about start with it again, havent been able to practice it due to alot of work related business. :/

lol... but the capoeira-ist or whatever you called him left himself WIDE open nearly half the fight. any better fighter would've knocked his lights out long before this kickboxer.

i'm brazilian, and i know capoeira, it's more a dance than a fight.Thats why he can't attack the kickboxer so good

Yes, it was invented by slaves, but the idea that it was meant as a fighting ready form is unsupported

It is interesting to how the pros and cons of each martial art compare to each other, and better yet how a practitioner of one can learn new things from another art. Capoeira is funny because while people tell each other about slaves, there's actually no historical evidence to support that. And fi you look at capoeira in its original form, it looks like even less of a fight that today's version. Try searching capoeira angola

I agree. I think trying to find which style is superior is futile. All styles work in different contexts because they were all developed under different cultures and for different reasons. Many of the gracie videos would easily allow someone to argue that jiu jitsu is superior. But what if you have multiple opponents? I know I wouldnt take a fight to the ground.
