The battle waz filmed by Paul Schmalenbach. Schmalenbach waz a crew member of the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen. Pictures u can find of the denmark strait battle are only frame of that film.

there was a documentary on her the other year. They found her but i cant remember the details, google it. She might not have been the most up to date ship at the time but she was iconic and stunning.

Last known photograph of HMS Hood is the one you will come across, is the one taken from the port side of HMS Prince of Wales. There's also one of the PoW (and the smoke from Hood's explosion), taken from Bismarck(?).There's also a photo of a distant Bismarck while under fire from HMS George V and Rodney.Sorry if you feel cheated, but I guess the guys were a LITTLE busy, at the time, to anticipate your request.

Is there any genuine footage of either the HMS Hood or Bismarck being sunk? I feel like I'm being hoodwinked with all of this false footage.

Really? I didn't know that.

Some says that people heard the sound of the battle in Reykjavik.

My Grandmother lived in North-western Iceland during WW2, she told me that dead british sailors were often found on the shore near her farm.
