Since the beginning of man, we have had racism. This is not peculiar to Europe. What troubles me is that I don't think you can accept or even see that there is as much racism (and I dare say more) in the black community towards whites as there is in the white community towards blacks. More than 50% of whites voted for a black man for president. Less than 5% of blacks voted for a white man for president. By the way, I have two types of minority blood running through my veins.

This is simply not true. In fact, modern countries are a fairly recent phenomenon. In ancient times, it was tribes/civilizations. Under empires like the Greek and Roman empires you had different regions that had their different ethnic perculiarities. People even from ancient times have been associated to a particular region by their physical appearance (and persecuted as a result). I could give you biblical examples of this.

I agree that American slavery WAS evil (I noticed you used the present tense-IS, by the way). That was my point about the bible translations changing the word slave to servant. As Christians, we are slaves to Christ.

There's another problem with this approach. It's not effective in curltailing racism. I'll give you the possibilty that Jesus was indeed black (although I think He probably looked like a typical modern day Jew). The problem is this. Your scripture verses and historical support will not do a darn thing to sway a white racist and you know it. These people don't care about historical and scriptural quotations. Rather than changing racism, you're just pooring make-believe ointment on your own wound.

But you are making yourself guilty of the same error by doing this, whether Jesus was black or not. You're using skin color (of Jesus) to elevate your position. Even if you see it as "equaling the playing field", it's still racism. Can't you see this??? You're whole argument is based around skin color. It's wrong for whites to do it and it's wrong for blacks as well. Racism works both ways. We have a black president. Let's celebrate that and move on.

Well, I'm not sure I want to rabit trail into a creationism/evolutionism discussion. I must say that I disagree. Genesis clearly says that it was God that created Adam out of the ground and that it was done in a day. It also says that animals produce "after their own kind" which precludes an animal having evolved from a different "kind". John Macarther has a very good series on the subject.

Ryooken, thank God someone has some sense. We(blacks) vote Democrat anyway, and I dont need a statistic to know that. So Obama pick up a lot of "white" votes. People who know that America is in deep trouble with Bush/McCain ideas and polices.America problems are so deep, it's scary. We love America and want nothing but the absolute BEST which is color blind. Go Obama/Biden08. This is true. Statistics state that blacks voted 93% democrat. In Obama's case they blacks voted 95% in Obama's favor. So Obama picked up 2% of the African American vote. Hardly a big margin. The fact is blacks mostly vote democrat. The only way anyone could make a case for racial voting is if Barack Obama was a republican.
