I am not sure, but I think Hinduism contrary to Judaism, Christianity or Islam is more open towards artistic expression and humor when it comes to deities. Same with Buddhism. It is mostly these dessert religions that are zealous about images and humor. Think about Chinese movies and their crazy funny demons, or the infinite versions of funny Buddhas.
