Metallica at the Wiltern - Fight Fire With Fire (w/ Flea)
Snippets from Metallica playing Fight Fire With Fire with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Hullabaloo Benefit concert at the Wiltern Theater in LA on May 14, 2008.-----I went to the Hullabaloo benefit concert to see Metallica and it was amazing! This is the closest I've been to the band at a concert and it was fantastic. The Wiltern floor has multiple levels, and I was on the first level above the pit, in the front row! I had the best vantage point from which to take pictures and videos (which I did) and I am presenting them here for you to enjoy. I only started recording half way into the show, because I first wanted to enjoy the show without fumbling around with the camera. Also, I never recorded a full song because I wanted to really rock out and enjoy every song, which is difficult to do while holding a camera, so please excuse the cuts/song incompleteness. The setlist was perfect, here it is:Creeping Death FuelFor Whom The Bell Tolls Welcome Home (Sanitarium) ...And Justice For AllSad But True Disposable HeroesOneMaster Of Puppets Battery- - - - -Last Caress No RemorseEnter Sandman - - - - -Fight Fire With Fire (w/ Flea)Seek and Destroy

Yeah Randy was a classically trained guitarist but getting that degree meant alot to him. RIP

same goes for randy rhoads, he wanted that classical degree bad and would've gotten it, but he died young

oh man flea!!!!

Because Hetfield and Hammett always play with extreme distortion, and when they use distortion they go for a scooped metal sound, so he has very little mid frequency, so it partially masks the Bass, But you can clearly hear it here.

but flea is good all around. slapping is just his main style. listen to right on time. or pretty little ditty
UnderTheBridge67 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
yeah but he's not as talented as flea. i mean come on...its not his fault, he just plays in a band where that technique isn't necessary. flea has alot of songs where he doesnt slap like soul to squeeze and under the bridge, i like dirt, etc.

Thats pretty hypocritical because your whole point was that flea was better than cliff. Cliff went to music school and was classically trained. He was 24 when he died, he had so much more left to do and prove to the world but never got the chance.

I think the farthest thing from a real musician is someone who bases real musicianship on whether or not they can play something better than another person.I get my inspiration from Jaco, like so many people do, I just think that dissing anyone who plays and writes GOOD music for fun and money is kind of pointless. What GOOD music is is a different argument altogether and I really don't care.
