She was already AFTRA'd for commercials and probably SAG'd. It makes the show better that ringers from studios aren't put on the show being known as such. She probably was already under contract at 20th Fox then.

What's fascinating is that Farah doesn't say she aspires to be an actress, but an artist who wants to own a gallery. And then there's the contestants, who often say they want to be actors or actresses, but when you look them up, you find out that they never made it - they're nowhere on the web. It's fun to find out 'what ever happened to?' the contestants or the questioner.
