You make the call. This happened in the 2008 AAA Georgia High School baseball championship game between Cartersville High School (batting) and Stephens County High School (fielding).Cartersville went on to win the game 13-1 and the state championship.Be sure to notice that several fans cheer the umpire getting hit and also sound their air horns. They were really upset with the umpires the inning before this happened. Very odd for a team that's still in the game, with a runner on base, and playing for the state championship.No, they were not ejected. This wasnt intentional. The pitcher and catcher had their signs mixed up. The catcher thought it was a curveball thats why he went to block the ball b/c he thought it was going to be in the dirt.

The catcher made a bad attempt to make it look like he got crossed up. and for all the people who thought it was a curvball that didnt break, theres no way someone at that level could throw one that bad. and plus it had too much velocity to be a curveball

Who cares...umpire probably deserved it anyways. A lot worse has happened, such as umpires getting hit by bats in the back of the head on a missed swing.
