V-Drums Recording - Simon Phillips

Video of Martin Diamond recording the drum track to Outback (by one of my favorite drummers, Simon Phillips.) The backing track is music minus drums, with a click in the background. I'll update this to do it on my real drums, but for now here's the V-Drums version.

how do you record electric drums, without getting the sound that others hear outside of the headphones..?

i agree. v-drums can do very well if the sound technician knows what they are doing. i worked as a sound technician at my church for years and the drummer used a v-drum set. lots of fun for the both of us hahaha. but i must admit, nothing sounds better than a properly tuned and mic'ed acoustic set. you cant beat the ambiance and fullness.

i like the sound but there needs to be more from the bass drum.

Where do you come up with that? V-drums do well in concert, if the sound engineer has their act together.
