yes this will help you strengthen your core. core is much needed for certain track and field events also.

I am pretty well in shape and am not really looking to lose any weight. I'm more wanting to improve my core strength for track and field. Would you recommend this sort of training to accomplish a goal like mine, rather than losing weight? Any help is appreciated.

I did it yesterday at the gym with my instructor and it felt like hell but i can really feel my whole core working, we partnered the workout with the Core & Shoulder Training also by synergy. Very effective than doing simple side bends and bridges!
