Sat one night and saw Bono and the rest of U2 completely destroy Curtis Mayfields People Get Ready in some massive stadium.Lightnin's sitting here by the side of the road with a guy smoking a cigarette listening to him on one side and a bush on the other....no prizes for the one i prefer.

ILive: you are right. Its just that, sometimes I see a legend who is forgotten. Or beat down from all the money issues that even success does not shelter them from. The women who come running, sometimes their kids (NOT always)..I was reminded of some legends that are not NOW living the life. But there is the Blues Foundation, and other groups, that help whenever they can. Anyone can donate or contact them if they find someone who really needs help. Elder statesmen, too alone or unwell. PEACE!

Being a Black man back in 1960 was much different that it is today. Their plight back then is part of what created the blues scene.

Jeez he is on a sidewalk. NO RESPECT IN THE USA FOR BLUES MASTERS. Europe lays out the red carpet. Many blues legends leave USA and dont look back. Thanks for letting us SEE Lightnin.. on the sidewalk.. not a venue. Its real nice sound and I love Lightnin!
