this scene is an enthnographic, racial, spatial, time machine...it's hard to know how to respond to it...the exotic "other," sexualized, objectified,and lauded all at the same time...

This is without a doubt, the single most awesome scene I've ever seen in my life. I can see how David Lynch must have loved this movie and paid homages to it in several films. Remember Audrey's dance and many other scenes. This movie must have inspired erotisism in other films since it was released.

Yes she was dubbed, although Miss Moreua knows Italian and learned her role in that language, she was dubbed, but her lips are speaking in Italian. She had a French accent and that's why she was dubbed. She was fantastic! I love Moreau in any part, she is such an intelligent actress.

Do you know if Jeanne Moreau was dubbed? She doesn't sound like her usual (singsong sarcastic) self in this movie.
