Correct. FN has the M16 A4 contract with the Marines only. The Army does not really use M16's any more, or if they do, they are older ones. The general issue rifle for the Army is currently the M4. Navy and Air Force personnel are typically issued M16's (non-SOCOM operators) that have been made by Colt.

FN Herstal rulessssssss!!!!!!!!!!

I think FN only makes m16's for the marines right? The army would be a whole different story.

Supposedly, they are going to open the M4 contract up to other companies, and if they do, FN has said they will make a bid for it. FN makes M16's, so it wouldn't be too big of a change for them. Maybe some of them are starting to wisen up.

Ever heard of the Colt LE 1020. Supposed to be Colt's answer to the Hk416 and FN SCAR. It bullshit because Colt stole the Hk416 operating system and just stuck it into a M4 body without the delta ring. And the biggest shame is that if the army ever did replace the M4, they would most certainly choose Colt's rifle over a better one (FN SCAR, XCR etc.) And it's all cause those bullshit politicians and generals have stocks in colt.

I'd pass on the Masada. It is a bit more complicated than the SCAR and the SCAR has done everything you've mentioned except the chambering in 7.62x39 at this point. Eventually, SOCOM will probably request that FNH make a conversion (which would consist of a new bolt and barrel). I don't think the ACR has a 7.62x39 version yet either. The SCAR has the same possibilities in modularity.

I like the SCAR, but I think I would prefer the Magpul Masada (Bushmaster ACR) if i were going into combat. I like it because it's built directly from the M16 and the company that made it replaced every flaw i can think of that the M16 has. It's more reliable, accurate, there's less recoil, it's more versatile, and it can fire AK-47 rounds with a change of the upper receiver. But i don't think it fires the 6.8 or 6.5 rounds. I hope the company is making a version that does, like FNH is.

all i can say is: one hell of an assault rifle, kicks like a bitch, and just plain amazing to look at

A. XCR was entered into SCAR program and they forgot to initially send blank firing adapters-not blank rounds. the military has plenty of those.B. Robinson Arms is too small of a company to supply a rifle to the regs.C. The regular army has never (to my knowledge) looked at this rifle for a replacement to the M4.

I heard that the Army is looking at the Robinson Arms XCR for the regualars to use but the company forgot to make a blank round for the weapon so now they don't want it. well couldn't the company just make a blank round and then the army would want it? or is it too late?
