No, it wasn't one shot. On the VCR cassette I have, Palmer says the girls were shot playing, then he was shot singing and it was put together

The women are just models, and are not really playing the instruments. Robert took some heat for this video with it being "sexist". Whatever. Robert is just too cool for words. May he rest in peace...

Nah the whole thing was shot in one go - It was going to be a duet with Chaka Khan but she wasn't allowed to do it by her label - although she is credited as vocal arranger on the sleeve notes

No, I don't believe they're actually playing, musical instruments that is. However, they sure do a good job of playing with one's fancy don't they? I've been told the video of the girls playing was superimposed onto the video of Palmer singing.
