well...yes. the conductor is the captain of the orchestra. He chooses the songs, and leads the orchestra, without a conductor an orchestra is impossible. Also if u are familiar with classical songs, there is a tempo which the conductor prefers, and almost everyone depends on the conductor for the tempo, and without one, there would be massive problems with tempo.

Whoever placed the microphones so they could pick up the pages turning should be SHOT! Anyway, I prefer this version too - better tempo. (Let's see if you can guess why an American might prefer the faster tempo in this version.)??
