DEDEDESAMLOL....If you reference the plane's Dash-1 and read the performance charts and envelops, the top cruise speed of the Blackbird will become very clear to you.... do a little research before making such a ridicules statement as if the performance perimeters of this 40+ year old A/C is still classified......Thanks

ramennoodlelover....The SR-71 top speed is its cruise speed..under the right conditions of air temp and engine flow performance, the top speed =cruise speed could reach as fast as 500 KEAS =equal to about Mach 3.5....

Actually, some parts are corrugated to allow for heat expansion, not because of air pressure.Oh, and as long as we're making stuff up, little hamsters on wheels power the engines.

the airframe covering has to be built slightly loose because the pressure of mach 4 is so great that if it was a tight fit it would probly crush
